The exhibition project at the PENNLAB gallery demonstrates the laboratory work of a group of artists united by a passion for experimentation and the development of an artistic language that is different from the standards already established in photography. The wide range of concepts, photographic techniques and formal techniques presented in the exhibition makes a vivid impression and directly communicates to the viewer that photography continues to live and is full of adventures.
Experiments and searches for photographic adventures took place within the framework of the Laboratory of Printing Practices “Photobasis” of the Center for Art Production “Vaults” from September to December 2023. The project participants are Anastasia Litvinova, Olga Mikhalchuk, Olya Pegova, Ksenia Plotnikova and Vika Ros.
Olga’s work was presented by the hand silver-gelatin print from her new series and included an interactive mechanism, which switched the light above the work on, when the gallery visitor set down to look at the portrait — eyes to eyes.
