Simulacra — exhibition in Moscow, April 23 — May 11
On April 23, 2021 the Soap opera project became a part of The Simulacra exhibition. The Open club gallery has created an “award simulation museum” for three weeks in the heart of Moscow city on the Spiridonovka street.
Today, different awards are being traded in Russia and abroad, illegally exported and sold at auctions, a lot of people hunted for it. In terms of prestige and high cost, faleristics is comparable to the collection of paintings or edged weapons.
The exhibition at the Open Club invites the viewer to explore the theme of reward simulation. Curators compiled a collection of unimaginable nominations and awards for winning them: for victory over yourself and invisible deeds, for creative flies and inspiration, for public services and honoring woodpeckers. In this “Museum of the Simulacrum” there is a place for everything, but the main thing is self-irony and humor.
The exposition includes painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, installation and decorative art.
